Since the holidays finally here (Halloween kicks them off), it’s time to think about parties, group events and ways to make those more bearable. Now, I’m not saying hosting people at your house isn’t awesome, or group events aren’t fun — they’re some of the things I love the most about the holidays — I’m just saying it’s good to have some social lubrication. You have a group over, don’t feel like making a cocktail, you have beer, wine and something else. You want to make that something else extra special, so you opt for some bubbly. However, you want everyone to have their own, enter the Sofia Blanc de Blancs mini!
That’s right, sparkling wine in a can! Not just that, but you get to drink it out of a straw. Très chic!
Seriously, I love this stuff. Whenever a recipe calls for “top off with champagne” (or sparkling wine, let’s not get pedantic here), I always reach for a can of Sofia Blanc de Blancs. It works for you in that you don’t need to open an entire bottle of bubbly just to make a single cocktail.
I’m not saying that’d be a bad thing — you’d just need to drink that bottle sooner rather than later. If you’re already making a cocktail, it’s possible you don’t want that plus an entire bottle of sparkling wine.
How does it taste? For sparkling wine in a can, pretty damn spectacular! It’s light, easy drinking, decent yeasty-ness, some pear and I’d wager a hint of honey. You’re not getting a dry brut here, it’s a great blend of Pinot Blanc, Riesling and Muscat (there’s your honey!).
You’re getting the best of both worlds with the Blanc de Blancs: bubbly, but an individual portion. Pick some up for your next gathering and I bet both you and your guests will be impressed and happy.
